#8 Bloglines and RSS

I have set up a Bloglines account and am busily entering RSS feeds from my favourite sites. This is such a great tool to use I wish I had known about it earlier. I'm off to enter a newsfeed or two. Cheers

#7 Making cards

I had fun with the Trading Card Maker, possibilities are endless. So this was the technology I think I am impressed with this week. Cheers

#6

I have been looking at the flickr extras such as mashups etc and have actually tried to place a photo on mappr. I think I tried to get it too far into the map by putting the photo exactly where it was taken, but of course the map didn't go down that far, well it did for somewhere in England of the same name, so that didn't help, so in the end I think I just dumped it somewhere near the spot. Couldn't find my way back to it though. Another problem I have had is getting organised with Tags, I put in lower case when in my title I had upper case, so I couldn't find my photo among the thousands uploaded. I wonder what the heck I am doing?

Progress

I have been a little behind, which is quite remiss of me, however, I am trying to catch up apace. Although I am a bit tentative about putting photos on the web, I can see I am really going to like using Flickr to organise my photos. I think this may be a good way to actually store/archive photos. I have been gradually scanning all my photo collections onto my hard-drive and backing them up on CD, having them on the web will be even better. I have a really good scanner that scans photos and negatives, which was not expensive. The scanner has a program that allows me to restore photos that are scratched etc, so I am gradually becoming rather adept at this and find the end results very impressive. As I do a bit of scrap-booking I have been keen to do it online, so am intending to experiment with Flickr. The possibilities are endless

crickey

Just when I thought I could settle back, comfortable with all the know-how I have managed to acquire through blood, sweat and years and years and years of observation, inference and application and smug in the thought that I now know enough to find stuff out there in the ether, to do my banking online, to change my address in various locations online, to make flight and holiday bookings oline, to email all and sundry with my wit and banter, to send a call on my mobile, to sms, to actually find my mobile before it stops ringing…just when I had all this stuff down pat and thought I was at the edge of the woods, here I am back in the thick of it again, learning colloquialisms in a whole new language....the blog. I suppose we call a ship’s log a shlog now. I’m sure this is all good fun and when I get my profile up and running, complete with all my holiday snaps and if Myspace is anything to go by, with a million photos of myself and all my first best friends, my fame will be instantaneous, just what I need, the world to know me better. Guess that’s me up and away.
